this i wish (for the new year…)

may you sail a breeze at a time
towards your shore…
tarrying at times but never stopping
may the moon guide you
on those lost and lonely nights
when your sail is the only bright thing
you see in a sea of dark waters

may you despite the horrors
that lurk underneath the flimsy skin
find happiness and hope
may the little precious moments that you cherish
sprinkle the dark skies
that may try to belittle you
with bright stars….
may you at the darkest of moments
be privy to the sweet songs
of a little bird singing of flight…
may you despite everything
and anything
rise above and live
with the importance of just being alive…

may you along a path
relive these moments momentarily
and cry out to the heavens
“I am alive…i live”

this i wish of you
that you change change
and not change change you
for you are what you are
